About Me

I have known Shetland all my life because my family roots are here. I moved to Shetland permanently in July 2010 in order to become a full time artist, having been an art teacher for 30 years.

Having trained at Gray’s School of Art as a painter, I have become increasingly fascinated by textiles and now explore many aspects of Shetland life through this medium, as well as in drawing and painting.

From my studio in Yell, overlooking Bluemull Sound, I am captivated by the constantly changing light and the effect this has on the land and sea.

I have previously exhibited in the RSW, Pall Mall Galleries (London) and many other group shows. I have works in many private collections as well as Aberdeenshire County Council and Aberdeenshire Educational Trust.
