The Knitting and Stitching Show

I was delighted to be asked by Andy Ross, GlobalYell if I would join him at The Knitting and Stitching Show, Alexandra Palace, London.  What a 5 days it was!  The interest in Shetland was amazing and we hope that many of the people who came to our stand will come and visit us in Sellafirth, Yell.

We are delighted to have been interviewed by ZoneOne Arts. Please read the article for yourself at http://www.zoneonearts.com.au/2013-03-29-shetland-gallery.htm

Shetland Wool Week

The Shetland Gallery will be open during Shetland Wool Week, 8-14 October 2012, Mon – Sat 11a.m. – 5p.m. and Sun 2p.m. – 5p.m.  We have a wonderful range of textiles at the gallery from traditional Shetland lace to more contemporary textile works.  I have been getting inspired by producing some huge drawings of Shetland rams!

New Work

I have added a new image gallery showing my recent paintings inspired by the huge skies of Shetland.  The work can be viewed at my studio in The Shetland Gallery.

The Shetland Gallery

The gallery is so close to being complete and we are delighted with how it has come together.  We have had quite a few visitors already and everyone seems to approve of the space and the artwork on show.  Very exciting times!

The Shetland Gallery

We are very excited as my husband and I have bought an art gallery.  It is called The Shetland Gallery and it is situated in Sellafirth, Yell.  The gallery will showcase the best of Shetland art and crafts and we plan to open at the end of March.  I will have my studio there and I plan to run art courses, probably starting next year.  I look forward to welcoming you at The Shetland Gallery!

SWRI Textile Book Workshop

The weekend was a great success and I hope that the ladies took away lots of ideas from it.  Seven hours of hard work on Saturday and three hours on Sunday morning resulted in everyone completing the task and very lively textile books were produced.  Melting plastic proved to be a popular technique and the only guideline was ‘there are no rules’!  I hope the ladies enjoyed the experience as much as I did.

I will be running a residential ‘Textile Book’ workshop for the SWRI  on the weekend of the 2nd-4th March at The Sumburgh Hotel, Shetland.
